"The Butterfly in Thy Heart".....In Times Like These.....Finding Happiness :-)
Hey, folks..... After the recent 'events' on Gather, I'd like to bring forth something I kind of held back for the second round of the First Chapters "contest." I think . . . more
About Me
-
Describe Yourself:Been there, done that, done By that..and a few of Them; and evolving......just trying to learn from, and emulate, my heros :-)
-
On Gather, I'm Looking For ...:Intelligent conversations about literature. I came here to enter First Chapters, my book: Tibet: Lamplight Unto a Darkened World, Part I Kathmandu Karma, Part II Messengers of the Gods. then, I found myself posting to a group to help out....and then 'meeting' people....the discussion topic is relevant to my book's theme.

Favorite Books, Writers, Genres:Hmmm, thats tough.....there are so many. Since I've moved into writing as a fulltime 'career, ' I've come to appreciate older books. Through researching mine I've found so many 'lost' wonders. Literature as a whole has kinda sunk to poolside readership, so new offerings are usually unappealing.....being geared to that demographic, and quick sales., Hmmmm, ones that make me think of different perspectives....those that challenge me to think...too many 2 list. In the "fun" category of reading??Orson Scott Card is Gr8 4 characterization, Marian Zimmer Bradley, Gordon Dickson, Frank Herbert, David Brin...in the S.F. genre.
-
Favorite Movies, Actors, Genres:Moulin Rouge, Casino Royale(both versions), Mame, Lord of the Rings, Blade Runner, Lots of French, little Indie flicks, Foreign films in general. "Dancer in the Dark" cuz I think Bjork really portrays sincere devotion of a parent.....I can relate. OMG, 2many films....I watch about six a week (Netflix & Hollywood Video accts ;-)

Lee Hepp , Apr 29, 2009, 2:59PM EDTHello new fiend, happy belated birthday. Bravo to your "about me", description, Your description re:apolitical caught my fancy. The blue brain melter ( TV) wears a quilt the majority of the time, I do enjoy movies and film however.
Small world-in as much as I was raised antique-ing, and building for, my Mother was a carpenter. I was baptized etc. Roman Catholic and Episcopalian, sometimes Jewish tossed in, I am spiritual. I sincerely look forward to reading more of your work. Gutsy to step out of the box, and be a writer! I have a limited knowledge of Tibetan culture, looking forward to reading your posts as well as what you have made available to gather, some of both Buddhist and Hindu-both are in my soul/practice.
Have a fabulous-inspirational, peaceful day.
